Course Outline
- 8 hrs Theoretical Training
- 4 hrs Sim Training
The DHC8-400 to DHC8-100/200/300 Differences Training programme is designed for pilots transitioning from the modern Q400 platform to the earlier Dash 8 Classic series. The course provides focused theoretical and operational training covering the technical, procedural, and handling differences between the aircraft variants, ensuring pilots develop a clear understanding of systems architecture, avionics variations, performance characteristics, and operational procedures.
Particular emphasis is placed on the transition from advanced automated systems to the more conventional cockpit environment of the Classic series, including differences in engine management, flight guidance systems, aircraft performance, limitations, and abnormal procedures. Delivered by experienced airline instructors, the programme prepares pilots for efficient adaptation to regional operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory and operator requirements.
The Differences Course has a duration of 3 days.
