The Robinson R44 Type Rating course is designed for pilots looking to transition to a more advanced and capable helicopter platform. Building on prior rotary-wing experience, the program focuses on the enhanced performance, systems complexity, and operational capabilities of the R44.
The course combines in-depth theoretical training with practical flight instruction, emphasizing aircraft handling, weight and balance considerations, navigation, and emergency procedures. With its greater power, increased seating capacity, and extended range, the R44 prepares pilots for a broader range of operations, including commercial and private missions.
Through structured training and real-flight experience, pilots gain the confidence and proficiency required to operate the R44 safely and effectively in diverse operational environments.
The standard course duration is five to seven days; however, it may be reduced to as little as three days for pilots holding a similar type rating or upon request.
*The listed requirements and prices refer to a full course. Under EASA regulations, training hours may vary depending on the types already held on your license. Please provide your license details when enquiring, as prior experience may reduce both theoretical and flight training requirements.
