The DHC8-100/200/300 to DHC8-400 Differences Training programme is designed for pilots transitioning from the Classic Dash 8 series to the technologically advanced Q400 platform. The course provides focused theoretical and operational instruction covering the major systems, avionics, automation, and performance differences between the aircraft variants, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition into modern regional airline operations.
Particular emphasis is placed on advanced avionics integration, autoflight systems, FADEC-controlled engine management, high-speed turboprop performance, and modern cockpit procedures. The programme also addresses operational philosophy differences, workload management, abnormal procedures, and airline-standard crew coordination. Delivered by experienced Type Rating Instructors, the training supports pilots in adapting confidently to the enhanced capabilities and operational demands of the DHC8-400 aircraft.
The Differences Course has a duration of 4 days.
