Gulfstream GVI (G650) Type Rating

The Gulfstream GVI (G650) Type Rating programme is developed for pilots aiming to operate one of the most technologically advanced and capable ultra-long-range business jets in modern aviation. The course combines advanced aircraft systems training with operationally focused simulator instruction, preparing crews for the complex environment of global executive aviation.

The programme provides in-depth training on the aircraft’s integrated avionics, fly-by-wire technology, high-speed performance capabilities, and long-range operational profile. Particular attention is given to automation management, strategic decision-making, international procedures, and efficient cockpit coordination in demanding operational environments.

Pilots undergo comprehensive ground school instruction followed by advanced Full Flight Simulator sessions replicating realistic operational scenarios, including transcontinental operations, high-altitude procedures, abnormal situations, and complex airport environments.

Entry Requirements

  • Valid ATPL or CPL with ATPL theory credit*
  • Current ME/IR rating* or holder of other type rating*
  • Holder of MCC** certificate or 500hrs on Multi Pilot Airplane experience
  • Valid Class 1 Medical certificate
  • English Language Proficiency min level 4

* For ICAO licences, items with asterisk are subject to local competent authority regulations and may not be required.

** If no MCC certificate, the course can be integrated in the Type Rating

Initial Type Rating / EASA

  • Computer Based Training (CBT) : 14 hrs
  • Theory Training and Exams: 64 hrs
  • Flight Simulator Type Rating Training: 24 hrs
  • Flight Simulator License Skill Test: 4 hrs

Additional MCC Course / EASA

  • Online self-study: 30 hrs
  • Classroom Theory Training – Instructor: 21 hrs
  • Flight Simulator Training: 10 hrs

Additional Courses (e.g. LVO, PBN, ZFTT)
