Gulfstream V Type Rating

The Gulfstream V Type Rating programme is designed to prepare pilots for long-range, high-performance corporate aviation operations through a comprehensive combination of advanced theoretical instruction and practical simulator training. Focused on the operational philosophy of ultra-long-range business jets, the course develops the technical precision and situational awareness required for international executive aviation.

Pilots are trained in the aircraft’s advanced avionics systems, flight management technology, high-altitude performance characteristics, and operational procedures, while gaining a strong understanding of long-range flight planning and strategic decision-making.

The programme incorporates detailed systems training together with Full Flight Simulator sessions replicating realistic operational conditions, including international procedures, complex airport environments, non-normal situations, and high-workload cockpit scenarios.

Entry Requirements

  •  Valid ATPL or CPL with ATPL theory credit*
  •  Current ME/IR rating* or holder of other type rating*
  • Holder of MCC** certificate or 500hrs on Multi Pilot Airplane experience
  • Valid Class 1 Medical certificate
  •  English Language Proficiency min level 4

* For ICAO licences, items with asterisk are subject to local competent authority regulations and may not be required.
** If no MCC certificate, the course can be integrated in the Type Rating

Initial Type Rating / EASA

  • Computer Based Training (CBT): 14 hrs
  • Theory Training and Exams: 64 hrs
  • Flight Simulator Type Rating Training: 24 hrs
  • Flight Simulator License Skill Test: 4 hrs

Additional MCC Course / EASA

  •  Online self-study: 30 hrs
  • Classroom Theory Training – Instructor: 21 hrs
  • Flight Simulator Training: 10 hrs

Additional Courses (e.g. LVO, PBN, ZFTT)

  • Training Session: 4 hrs
  • Examining Session: 4 hrs
