TRI and SFI Training Courses for Multi-Pilot Aircraft Instructors

Jetstream Aviation provides TRI(A) and SFI(A) training courses for multi-pilot aircraft for:

Course Training Outline

  • Ground School: 5 days
  • Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Training:
    • 3 sessions totaling 10 hours
    • Breakdown: 2 sessions of 4 hours each, 1 session of 2 hours
    • Each session includes briefing and debriefing
  • Competence Assessment: 2 sessions of 4 hours each

Note:

  • The customer must provide an assisting pilot for the assessment sessions
  • All examiners conducting these sessions must be approved by the applicant’s licensing authority

Eligibility Requirements

For initial issuance of an SFI (MPA) certificate:

  • Hold or have held a CPL, MPL, or ATPL in the relevant aircraft category
  • Completed a full type rating course (excluding the aircraft training portion)
  • Passed the proficiency check for the specific aircraft type rating in an FFS within the 12 months prior to application
  • Accumulated at least 1,500 hours flight time as pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes
  • Within the last 12 months, completed as a pilot or observer either:
    • 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the applicable aircraft type, OR
    • 2 line-oriented flight training (LOFT)-based simulator sessions, conducted by qualified crew, including 2 flights of at least 2 hours each between different aerodromes, with associated pre-flight planning and debriefings

For initial issuance of a TRI (MPA) certificate:

  • Hold a CPL, MPL, or ATPL licence for the applicable aircraft category
  • Have at least 1,500 hours flight time as pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes
  • Completed, within the 12 months before application, 30 route sectors (including take-offs and landings) as pilot-in-command or co-pilot on the applicable aeroplane type, of which 15 sectors may be completed in an FFS representing that type
