The Robinson R22 Type Rating course is designed to qualify pilots to operate this widely used light helicopter safely and efficiently. The program combines focused theoretical instruction with practical flight training, covering aircraft systems, performance, limitations, and both normal and emergency procedures.
Through structured training and hands-on experience, pilots develop the precision, coordination, and situational awareness required to operate the R22 with confidence, making it an essential step for those pursuing a career in helicopter aviation.
The standard course duration is five to seven days; however, it may be reduced to as little as three days for pilots holding a similar type rating or upon request.
*The listed requirements and prices refer to a full course. Under EASA regulations, training hours may vary depending on the types already held on your license. Please provide your license details when enquiring, as prior experience may reduce both theoretical and flight training requirements.
